The Wolf-Livestock Guide is now live.
The Wolf-Livestock Guide
Ranch-tested strategies to prevent and mitigate wolf-livestock conflict, plus clear guidance on compensation and how to get help. What works, why it works, and where to start.
As wolf populations grow and conflicts increase, producers need more options. Too many resources jump straight to tactics without taking the time to understand and address the root cause of the conflicts. This guide seeks to fill that gap and provide both context and tactical options. It lays out the principles behind wolf behavior and livestock vulnerabilities so you can evaluate your own operation with a critical eye to address the root cause of the problem.
This guide was created based on insights from over 50 ranchers across the country and countless rangeland experts. We are deeply grateful to all who contributed. A special thank you to Working Circle, whose guidance and decades of on-the-ground experience in wolf-livestock conflict mitigation informed this resource.
